What the School Says
Founded by Lydia Moss Bradley in 1897, Bradley University is a private, independent university offering undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs in the liberal and fine arts, the sciences, business administration, communications, education, engineering, and the health sciences. Our residential campus of 6,000 students blends large school opportunities with a small school personality where there is a commitment to excellent teaching and personal attention to students. Bradley's comprehensive programs offer an effective integration of liberal education, professional preparation, and personal and social development.
Bradley University's College of Education and Health Sciences develops leaders in the human service professions, including education, counseling, nursing, family and consumer sciences, health sciences, physical therapy, and administration.
Fully accredited, the College’s undergraduate and graduate programs feature a unique educational blend of theory and hands-on experience. We’re a concerned and supportive academic community, and we’re proud of the nearly 100 percent job and graduate school placement rate we’ve achieved in the past few years.
The focus of the College of Engineering and Technology at Bradley University is undergraduate engineering education. Our faculty have achieved a high level of technical competence in their field, but are committed to teaching and mentoring students. The fact that the college has 800 undergraduate students in a university of 5000 undergraduates in five colleges allows us to provide an educational experience that contains many interdisciplinary aspects through collaborations with the other colleges. The campus has an atmosphere of open inquiry and exploration. This enhances the sound technical foundation that our engineering and technology students receive.
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences provides students with the central disciplines of a university education: the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and mathematical and computational sciences.
Programs in the College lead to degrees with specialization in over 20 areas of study. Students may pursue the Bachelor of Arts (which requires a foreign language), or the Bachelor of Science (see University requirements for B.S. degree).
The Foster College is the college of choice for approximately 1050 exceptional undergraduate students and 150 Master's students. The 53 full-time faculty in the college are absolutely committed to teaching and learning. With 95 percent of the faculty holding a Ph.D. or the highest degree in their field, we offer students exceptional teaching, small class sizes, personal attention, and an abundance of opportunities to gain practical experience. Unlike many universities, graduate students are not used for teaching and students begin taking business courses in their freshman year.
