- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Social Security Number
- Enrolment in an eligible degree program
- U.S. citizenship (or eligible non-US citizen status)
- Good grades
Application
Do you have the following?
- Most current FAFSA form
- Social Security Number and driver’s license
- Financial documents to answer questions on application
Deadline for submission
Did you:
- Get help from your family to complete the form?
- Identify 1–6 schools on the form?
- Submit the application?
- Check if your school requires the CSS/PROFILE® application?If PROFILE is needed, did you:
- Request the application?
- Identify what your schools’ deadlines are for submission?
- Submit the application?
Verification
Did you:
- Receive your SAR (about 3–5 days after submitting your FAFSA online)?
- Check your SAR for mistakes?
- Submit necessary corrections?
