Do you go to one of the Hottest Colleges in America?

Monday, January 5th, 2009

As warm-blooded creatures in our prime, it’s no wonder there’s insatiable curiosity over which college is home to the best looking students. Even college grads want to take pride in knowing that their diplomas hail from a stronghold of social “10’s”.

Finally, there’s a site dedicated to putting this hot topic to rest (while short circuiting keyboards everywhere with drool).
Thanks to the budding web entrepenuer, Bryan Roy, at University of Arizona, college students nationwide are enthusiastically stepping up to the challenge of earning their bragging rights.
Roy’s latest creation, HottestCollegeinAmerica.com, is a “completely user-based interactive reality search for the sexiest campus in our nation.”  Students can submit photos of their best looking peers and monitor how attractive their school “looks” against rival college cohorts. The competition is fueled by a star-rating system and weekly polls updating the “hottest school” rankings.

Show your outer beauty and school spirit with just a click.

Now after you find your perfect match college at CampusCompare, you can get a sneak peek at who you might be (lucky enough) to rub elbows with in class.

Click, Click as fast as you can! You can’t beat this, it’s the College Man!

TheCollegeMan is their name and college life is their game.

thecollegeman.com is a new website about college rants, raves, funnies and woes for the college-age bros. It was co-founded by a guy named Jon Stewart, so it’s bound to be funny (although this Jon Stewart isn’t quite so famous just yet…but he does have the name going for him.)

Jon and his buddies Adam and Kent wanted to figure out what would happen “when three dumb kids start a website” and TheCollegeMan was born. With stories on everything from music and videos, politics and sports, to humor and sex, the site has laugh-out-loud lines that will keep you hooked and wanting to come back for more.

They’ve also recently grown to become a multi-university website, with special pages dedicated to a few schools (USC and Michigan to name a few) on a more local level, and are still growing. We’re proud to partner up with TheCollegeMan as a content provider, and are about to leak some never-been-released blogs onto their site, so be sure to sneak a peek! TheCollegeMan is like chicken soup for the college kid’s soul… if that soup was Ramen noodles and that kid was drunk.

Dear Babs: Sororities

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Dear Babs,

My mother and grandmother talk so fondly of their days in the sorority house that I’m convinced I’d like to pledge one when I get to college next year. Can you give me some advice on which schools have the most active sororities on campus?

Signed,
Future Sorority Sister

Dear Future Sister,

You’ve come to the right place. As a proud member of Alpha Omicron Pi—yes, you are still a member of a sorority even after you graduate—I can tell you that sororities are a great way not only to make lasting friendships, but also to really get involved on campus.

According to US News and World Report, the following ten schools have the largest sorority populations; the percentage represents the number of females on campus that have pledged.

10.  Wofford College (60%)

9.  Tennessee State University (62%)

8.  Beacon College (62%)

7.  West Virginia University - Parkersburg (63%)

6.  DePauw University (70%)

5.  Ohio Valley University (70%)

4.  Washington and Lee University (76%)

3.  University of the South (88%)

2.  CUNY - City College (98%)

1. Clearwater Christian College (100%)

Have fun going to the rush parties next year!

Love, Babs
